A rare experimental all-brass Remington Vest Pocket derringer
circa 1865-66
Serial no. 167, .22 caliber. Brass frame and barrel of very similar configuration to the standard .22 caliber Vest Pocket but without a front sight and with the rear of the frame top with very rudimentary sighting notch. Left side of frame marked Rider's Pt./Sept. 13, 1859. Frame retains generous traces of what appears to be a plated finish. Hammer with deeply knurled spur. Unmarked brass grips.
Condition: Very good. Showing scattered light marks.
