A large firing model of a breechloading coastal gun
The 19 1/2 inch stepped brass smoothbore tube with 3/4 inch bore, the interrupted screw breech missing the breechblock/firing mechanism. Massive steel sleeve covering most of the rear half of the barrel; trunnion mounts with hydraulic recoil fittings set on roller-mounted tracks; this above a flared traversing base, the circular stand below fitted with brass rollers and having a locking panel; elevation gear functioning; traversing gear evidently disconnected; rear of mount fitted with loading platform having hinged shell holder, the gear for it also disconnected.
Condition: Metal with dark patina and scattered marks. Breech mechanism missing and some gears not functioning as noted above.
