A 1/4 scale firing model of a German Model 1873 rifled breechloading field gun with limber
late 19th/early 20th century
The 20 1/2 inch stepped brass tube with 12 land rifling and 7/8 inch bore; off-set iron sight; Krupp sliding breech action. Mounted on a green-painted iron field carriage closely modeled after the Model 1873 88mm gun and fitted with axletree seats, elevation screw and worm-activated brakes; wheels of iron-mounted wood. Complete with green-painted metal limber en suite.
Condition: Some losses to painted finish. One wheel on field carriage missing the iron rim.

  • Note: The Krupp sliding breech gun was accepted into service by the Imperial German Army in 1873 for use by the horse artillery with the designation Feldgedchϋtz Material C/73.
