An American powder horn
The 9 1/2 inch horn with simple spout at the tip and slightly convex wooden plug secured by three brass and one iron tack. The body with later incised decoration comprising British coat-of-arms above a city-scape with the banner Philadelphia, the reverse inscribed Ens Wm. Lyon/2nd Battn/Pa.Rgt 1757.
Condition: Showing considerable wear and staining and some chipping above plug.
