6th Inniskilling Dragoons Officer's Helmet 1843-1847 Pattern
A very fine all gilt metal example. The plain skull with a bottom title band 'Inniskilling Dragoons'. The frontal rayed plate overlaid with the Royal Arms and honour scroll, 'Waterloo'. The gilt metal crest embellished with raised scrolling of laurel and acanthus foliage. The black horse hair 'shaving brush' and falling plume is original. Gilt metal chin scales of laurel leaf pattern (a small neat repair to the lining at one end) with large gilt rose pattern supporters. Red morrocan sweat band and both peaks lined with green skiver.
