A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss

With three-stage barrel turned and belled at the muzzle, octagonal breech engraved with a foliate scallop shell at the breech and 'Manchester' in script along the top flat, grooved engraved tang, signed engraved flat bevelled lock, later figured full stock (some bruising, split in front of the side-plate), border engraved brass mounts comprising shaped flat bevelled side-plate and butt-plate each decorated with a rocaille and foliage, trigger-guard with acorn finial and engraved with a flower-head on the bow, vacant escutcheon, baluster ramrod-pipes, and later brass-tipped ramrod (tang and lock pitted, some wear overall), London proof marks and Aston's barrelsmith's mark
