A 19th century pearl and diamond necklace
The rose-cut diamond chain suspending a tapering fringe of stylised floral and foliate motifs, set with old brilliant, rose and single-cut diamonds and eight baroque pearls, measuring 8.0-12.8mm, mounted in silver and gold, diamonds approx. 9.00cts total, French assay mark, length 42.0cm (illustrated inside the front cover)


  • Accompanied by a certificate from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating that two pearls at random were found to be natural, saltwater. Certificate number 06084, dated 7th August 2012.

    By repute, from the collection of Elena Lupescu (1895-1977), mistress and later wife of King Carol II of Romania.
