Spun brass, the handle wrapped in embossed leather with a guard inscribed "Games of the XXlV Olympiad Seoul 1988", the crown engraved with a Dragon and marked with the Seoul logo in colour, 510mm. high
The torch was lit at the Temple of Hera, Olympia, then flown via Bangkok to the most southerly of Korea's islands. Designed by Lee Woo-Sung and manufactured by Korea Explosives Co.Ltd. 3,300 torches were made and 25,000 runners took part in the relay.
