by Louis Vuitton, 1920s
Honey leather case with leather handles to each end, with Louis Vuitton marked brass riveted leather re-enforced edges and corners, brass lock (numbered 050278), 'LV' catches and hinges, wooden battens to base and one side, opening to reveal leathercloth lined interior containing, in right-hand section, six leathercloth drawers with leather handles and canvas lining, the left-hand section with fold-out nickel-plated runners carrying ten wooden hangers and branded wooden framed canvas protective curtain, two mesh frames and single leathercloth felt-lined interior case, with leather handle and straps and Louis Vuitton branded leather patch, also with leather patch to inside of base and further stamped with number '783401', the whole extensively branded throughout with Louis Vuitton markings, some travel wear to exterior, and with painted monogram 'D.P' to each end, formerly the property of a Dr Stanley Pierson of Ipswich and bearing his business card in window patch to the lid.
