1963 Fiat 750 Abarth Berlina
Chassis no. 1537289
Engine no. 1687224
The 'D' version of Italy's people's car, the Fiat 600, debuted in early 1960 and quickly became a familiar sight on narrow Italian streets. Robust, economical, and with room for four - by European standards - the 600 was a natural choice for consumers. Italy is a motorsport-oriented culture, of course, so it wasn't long before tuning house Abarth offered both 750cc and 850cc high-performance variants of the model.

The 750 was in effect a 600 sent to Abarth for a host of performance upgrades including a different exhaust, carburetor, and crankshaft. The performance increases were commendable and allowed a base 600 the ability to get out of its own way.

This particular 750 was at one time owned by well-known Italian car collector Franco Manetti. It was treated to a cosmetic restoration, during which the interior was freshened with leather seats new Fiat rubber floor mats. Acquired by a significant collection in 2005, the Abarth has seen little use since. This diminutive Fiat is undeniably cute, presents beautifully in eggshell blue, and has the added benefit of Abarth performance upgrades, meaning it can be confidently driven on the street. Forget Ferraris – if you enjoy being the center of attention you couldn't ask for a cuter, more compelling little car.
