Autograph Letter Signed and 4 Typed Letters Signed ("Eudora"), 20 pp recto and verso, 8vo, Jackson, MS, January 18, 1971 to August 26, 1996, to Walter Clemons, on personal letterhead, very fine. Together with 8 by 10 silver print photograph of Welty, Richard Ford, and one other by Jill Krementz.
Clemons was the editor of the Times Literary Supplement and Welty's designated literary executor—until he predeceased her. In a letter dated January 18, 1971, she mentions her regard for Ross MacDonald, and that she is proud to have her novel Losing Battles in the Times top 12 for 1970. In a letter dated August 20, 1973, she discusses watching the Watergate Trials on TV: "I'm so tired of it, and can't wait for it to start again."
