Footnotes

  • JERON QUARTER CLASSICS (JQC)

JQC was formed by Jerry Morlik and Ron Phillips in the mid 1980's. After long careers at General Motors, they wanted to build ¼ scale models to race in "Grand Prix" races. The first models produced were four feet long, weighed 60 lbs and were powered by large, single cylinder gasoline motors. About 100 Lancia D-50's, Ferrari 801, Maserati 250F and Mercedes W165 were produced. Jeron's ultimate goal was to build working V-12 motors to power Ferrari GTOs, Testarossas and a W-154 Mercedes (25 of each). They spent over $1.5 million on designs, tooling and the construction of prototypes. The venture failed and not a completed single model was ever delivered. These models were purchased out of bankruptcy – and are being offered for sale for the first time.
