Lot Details
An autograph album of motor racing signatures, from the Healey family collection,
including Brian Lewis, John Cobb, Bert Hadley, Arthur Dobson, Tommy Wisdom, Billy Cotton, Raymond Mays, CEC Martin, Earl Howe, B.Bira and others, together with other aviation, sporting and entertainment autographs, and with a list of the signatories.

Footnotes

  • These autographs were collected by Brian Healey when he and his brothers were taken by their father Donald Healey to pre-War race meetings and Grand Prixs, where of Donald knew the signatories well. Brian particularly recalls the 1937 Grand Prix at Donington, and collecting the German team drivers' signatures.

Whilst the album is understandably mostly motoring related, there are others he recalls in there, for example Tommy Farr, the boxer, who went 12 rounds with Jo Louis. Also a couple of test pilots when Donald took them on one occasion to Coventry airdrome.
