Footnotes

  • Eric Clapton is seen using this amp or its companion at his concerts at Staples Center, Los Angeles, 18 and 19 August 2001 in the live video One More Car One More Rider released in November 2002.

First introduced in 1993 and reputed to have been born out of Fender's question to itself 'what Fender amp would we offer to Eric Clapton?', Vibro King, along with Tone Master, was the first Fender Amp Custom Shop models. After updating the pickups of his Signature Stratocaster to the Vintage Noiseless model, Clapton began using these Vibro Kings on stage during his 2001 US tour probably to look for a better match with his guitar's new sound. This amplifier was custom-modified by Denis Cornell further to Clapton's request to emphasise the mid-range.
