A George III Irish silver swing-handled basket,
by Ambrose Boxwell, Dublin 1777,
of oval form with ribbon-tied husk rim, the border pierced with foliate scrolls and applied with a band of alternating rams' head masks and urns with pendant garlands and linked by flower swags, the sides pierced with slats, the centre engraved with a crest, the scroll handle embellished with chinoiserie figures, raised on a pierced skirted foot, length 40.5cm, weight 46.5oz.
