A Very Fine Pair Of 30-Bore Flintlock Duelling Pistols

With browned swamped octagonal sighted barrels signed on the top flat and with a transverse band of engraved beadwork at the rear of each breech, gold-lined touch-holes, finely engraved case-hardened tangs also with a band of beadwork and each incorporating the back-sight, case-hardened locks retained by two screws and signed within an oval supported by swags, and each with stepped bevelled border, engraved stepped tail, safety-catch, cock and steel, the last with small roller, blued steel-spring, and gold-lined pan, the internal working parts retaining their original blued and burnished finish, finely figured full stocks, swelling flat-sided butts, finely engraved blued iron mounts including trigger-guards with pineapple finial and rounded pommel-caps, bright set triggers and trigger-plates, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and original ramrods, one with worm and powder-measure, in exceptional almost unused original condition throughout, London proof marks with Wogdon's barrelsmith's mark (2)
