FIRST SEPARATE PRINTING OF THIS CAPTIVITY NARRATIVE ON THE OHIO/PENNSYLVANIA FRONTIER, which also includes dispatches documenting General St. Clair's defeat in 1791. The editor, John Winter, makes a prescient observation in the foreword: "There is a time coming, too, when the aborigines of this country will excite much more attention than at present; and when every thing relative to their character, mode of life, exploits, warfare and savage cruelty, will be sought after with great avidity."
