Capitalizing on its record-breaking success at the eponymous Utah salt flats, Triumph introduced a new twin-carburetor sports roadster in September 1958: the Bonneville. Its newness notwithstanding, the Bonneville remained recognizably similar to Edward Turner's first Speed Twin of 1938. Unitary construction of engine and gearbox was already a feature of the 350 and 500 twins though, and this innovation duly appeared on the 650s in 1963. The café racer's favorite since its launch in 1959, the Bonneville continued in this new form as Triumph's top-of-the-range sports roadster. Progressively updated throughout the decade, the Bonnie was re-launched for 1971 with the new oil-carrying frame together with BSA-Triumph's other 650cc twins.

Finished in gold and white, this 1972 Bonnie was restored by Southern California restorer Don Harrell. Featuring the new oil-in-frame designed that was launched in 1971 and breathing through an Amal carburetor, the long rod 650cc vertical twin engine still carries the presence of its forebears. Rich in both nostalgic form and rideable function, this machine is offered on a Certificate of Title.
