A green tourmaline and diamond pendant necklace, Andrew Grima, 1972
the "sunburst" pendant centering an oval-shaped green tourmaline within a radiating surround of textured gold, further accentuated by round brilliant-cut diamonds, suspended from a textured gold collar; signed Grima; estimated total diamond weight: 1.75 carats; mounted in eighteen karat gold; length: 15 1/2in.

    Note.
    According to the Speiser family, this is one of four examples of this particular brooch made by Andrew Grima. One was given as a gift from Mr. Grima to his wife, Jojo. The most famous was presented to Madame Pompidou by Queen Elizabeth in 1972 on her State Visit to France, which is referenced above. The third was a gift from Marvin Speiser to Laura. Unfortunately, the Speisers were robbed in the early 1990s, and the brooch was stolen. Mr. Grima replaced that brooch with the brooch here on offer.
