A fine and rare pair of jichimu horseshoe chairs
Late Ming / early Qing dynasty
Each finely worked with an elegant 'U'-form crest curving to form outscrolled hand grips, vertically centred by a rectangular inverted 'S'-shaped splat intricately carved with a stylised lingzhi motif enclosing a chilong dragon, the cane seat resting on four straight legs framed by an elaborate apron carved with scroll motifs.
