1996 Jaguar XJS Convertible
Chassis no. SAJNX2745TC224598
Jaguar's first response to demands for an open-top XJS was somewhat conservative in engineering terms. But the marketplace demonstrated that there was indeed sufficient demand to justify production of an open XJS, so Jaguar grasped the nettle and proceeded to develop a conventional full convertible. They turned for assistance to coachbuilders Karmann in Osnabruck, a firm with considerable expertise in the manufacture of open cars.
Described as 'a joy to drive', this local Southern California native XJS 4.0-Litre Convertible from the last year of production, has been owned by four Jaguar enthusiasts and covered some 71,000 miles from new. Finished in a very traditional British Racing Green with beige leather interior, this nicely presented car comes complete with evidence of service history at the local Palm Springs dealer, and all original books.
