1804 10C 13 Stars VF30 Details, Scratched ANACS
JR-1, R.5. A coin with a lot of device definition for an 1804 dime, but it does have some scratches on the reverse. Deep argent-gray, with the date sharp and all devices visible except for a couple of stars over the eagle's head (always soft). As a date, the coinage of 1804 has been in feverish demand for some time, carried on the heels of the 1804 dollar, eagle, and large cent perhaps. The dimes and quarters, long considered scarce, suddenly evaporated into collectors' hands and precious few have been offered recently. This is more than acceptable despite a couple of minor deductions, and would make a solid representative of the date. (PCGS 4474)
