1965 Honda 49cc CZ100 'Monkey Bike'
Registration no. DLU 939C
Frame no. S90977
Engine no. C100E-C4490
With the launch of the CZ100¬ in 1960, Honda created the class of machine known as 'monkey bikes', so called because of their diminutive stature. The power unit was the C100 step-thru's reliable four-stroke single that incorporated a three-speed gearbox with automatic clutch. An ultra-short wheelbase, small wheels and vestigial fuel tank were all features of a machine which, in the case of the folding handlebar version, could fit into the boot of a car. Immensely popular as paddock transport the world over they are currently much in vogue, with a flourishing owners club in the UK.

This machine offered here is an example of that very first 'monkey' design, the CZ100, which was made from1960 to 1967. The bike has been in the current owner's possession since at least 1965 and has been left in the garage - untouched - for the past 20-or-so years. Offered for sympathetic restoration, it displays a total of 259 miles on the odometer and is sold strictly as viewed. There are no documents with this Lot.
