1938 Motobécane 100cc B1V2 Military Motorcycle
Frame no. 415950
Motobécane's 100cc B1V2 two-stroke lightweight model was used by the French Armed Forces at the start of WW2 virtually unaltered from its civilian specification apart from a change to military livery and the provision of a luggage rack and headlight blind. The B1V2 weighed 132lbs and had a range of over 200 miles, with a top speed of 31mph. After the fall of France, many of these small motorcycles were commandeered by the occupying German forces for various duties including use by the Luftwaffe as airfield runabouts.

Although currently unregistered, this example comes with French registration papers dating back to 1994. The machine was purchased by the Jersey Occupation Museum in 1996 and subsequently restored, being repainted in German military Field Grey.
