A rare late 17th/early 18th century Italian outer harpsichord case with later scarlet japanning
Decorated with oriental figures and pagodas in landscapes within gilt foliate borders to the hinged lid and sides, the borders repeated to the two-part, shaped scroll design and open trestle bases, the small base with remains of an indistinctly ink inscribed and printed paper label with partial name of 'Sig.Leopold' and '....Terreno 45, Firenze', 230cm wide, 93cm deep, 97cm high.
