the central Limoges enamelled panel depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin, the largest scene of the Coronation within a decorative arched border, below the Annunciation and a small depiction of the Crucifixion, with an oval panel depicting a male saint above, flanked by a pair of doors fitted with further circular and oval panels depicting the four Evangelists, Saint Peter and Saint Paul, as well as a martyr saint with a palm and an another Saint with a book, set in an ornate relief carved triptych of architectural form, with numerous arches, pilasters and roundels, the central panel 26.5cm high x 18cm wide, 59cm high overall

  • Although probably assembled in the 19th century, this altarpiece is similar in form to an altarpiece that reputedly belonged to Catherine de Medici and is now in the Renaissance Museum at the Chateau of Ecouen. This apparently 16th century altarpiece is also centred by a rectangular panel and flanked by a pair of doors, each with a circular panel above and below a pair of oval panels to the centre.

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £20,000 of the hammer price;
26% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £20,000 up to and including £700,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £700,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
