A very rare first half of the 19th century bronze kane dokei, or Temple bell clock
The hanging brackets cast in the form of a pair of temple dogs, over cast running and geometric patterns within borders, the 6.5 inch lacquered brass dial engraved with running foliage, with two winding holes, for going and striking trains and a repeat lever for the hours, the centre set with a wari koma dial with single pierced steel hand and movable hour and half hour markers, the fusee movement with balance wheel to a verge escapement 18cms (7ins) in diameter.
