  • Since publication of the catalogue the provenance of this lot has been further established. Private collection, Ammam, Jordan; acquired for the current owners by Khaled Wahal from a Jordanian art dealer in 2005 who purchased the work earlier that year from the artist Shakar Alousi. Previously owned by Mr Mohammad Zinab of Athar Gallery, Baghdad, and Ms Lamees Raof of Qibab Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi. Ms Raof purchased the work from Mr Salman Dawood, manager of Al Jadiriah Hospital in Baghdad in 1991. It was whilst in the ownership of Ms Raof that the artist signed the work at her request.
