"Isolde" a small slipper stern launch
Length:20ft.(6.09m) Beam:4ft.8in.(1.42m) Draft:1ft.3in.(0.38m)

Built by Alf Parrott at Henley, ex. "Rook". Single chine hull, with planked bottom and laminated timber sides, on oak frames and timbers. Painted blue to the waterline and red below, with a varnished rubbing strake.

Engine: Stuart Turner R3MC single cylinder 1.5hp two stroke petrol, with Stuart carburettor, no. 36547.

General arrangement: Foredeck of varnished laminated timber with brass stem plate, fairleads and mooring cleat, with Stuart filler cap to stainless fuel tank beneath. Raised mahogany coaming to cockpit, with varnished oak and painted floor boards. A pair of slatted mahogany seats forward, with a slatted mahogany bench seat aft, side wheel steering and throttle control to port. Central removable engine box with lifting lid. Sloping aft deck with lifting hatch to interior, navigation light and ensign socket. Fitted with bronze fender rings to each side. Inventory includes ensign, fenders and boathook. On a two wheel road trailer.

  • "Isolde" underwent an extensive restoration by Tony Glaze of Halesworth, Suffolk. Work has included replacement floor timbers, frames and vertical timbers, new decks and covering boards, rubbing strake, keel and aft deadwood, transom block and floorboards. The engine has been completely rebuilt by Fairways Marine. A superb example of these popular little craft, in fine fettle and ready for the river.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge what is known as a Buyer's Premium. Buyer's Premium on all Automobilia lots will adhere to Bonhams group policy:

25% up to £50,000 of hammer price,
20% from £50,001 to £1,000,000 of hammer price,
and 12% on the balance thereafter. This applies to each lot purchased and is subject to VAT.

For Motor Cars and Motorcycles a 15% Buyer's Premium is payable on the first £50,000 of the final Hammer Price of each Lot, and 12% on any amount by which the Hammer Price exceeds £50,000. VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.

Some lots may be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price. These lots will be clearly marked with the relevant symbol printed beside the lot number in the catalogue.
