A camphorwood hinged chest, Yixiang

Of rectangular form and very large size, composed of a two-board paneled removeable top with exposed tenons to the front and vertical dovetail joints at the sides, the wood of well-matched grain and fitted with brass hasp and plate and u-shaped handles for portage, fitted into a separate base carved with bats in flight above foliage centered on a xi medallion.
