"Paraiba" Tourmaline and Diamond Ring
Centering on a highly attractive oval-cut "copper bearing" tourmaline, from Mozambique, commonly dubbed as "Paraiba" in the trade due to its copper-bearing qualities. Its attractive greenish-blue color is surpassed only by its excellent luster, weighing approximately 4.18 carats, flanked by two half-moon shaped diamonds, together weighing approximately 1.01 carats, mounted in 18K white gold, size 6 ¾.

- Please note that this lot is accompanied by a Gemological Institute of America report no. 1112374409 dated November 12, 2009 stating that the 4.18 carats stone is a bluish green tourmaline. This copper and manganese bearing tourmaline may be called "paraiba tourmaline" in the trade. The name "paraiba" comes from the Brazilian locality where this gem was first mined, however, today it ma come from several localities."
