A Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver with interesting patriotic grips

A Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver with interesting patriotic grips
Serial no. 152435 IP for 1864, .44 caliber. 8 inch barrel. Frame cut for shoulder stock. Factory elephant ivory grips, the left side with period incised polychrome patriotic motif featuring Lady Liberty astride an eagle in flight and carrying an American flag with a Federal shield below encircled by a riband bearing the motto Equal Rights.
Condition: Fine. Barrel retains 50-60% dark blue finish, mainly on underside and lug. Rammer retains much darkened casehardening. Cylinder with excellent scene and much blue finish on rebated portion. Frame with much faded casehardening remaining. Brass triggerguard with very light traces of silver. Iron gripstrap with considerable blue finish on the apron, the balance with slight traces. Fine grips with age patina and barking, the carved decoration showing some wear.
