1951 Chevrolet Styline Deluxe Coupe
Chassis no. JAA722797
1949 saw the introduction of Chevrolet’s Styleline Special Sport Coupe and Styleline Deluxe Sport Coupe. Similar to the Business Coupe model in outward appearance, but with a rear seat, the car had a very interesting profile. A two door Chevy sedan was usually made with a 4 door sedan roof panel and seating package. Only the number and size of the doors distinguished the two. However, The 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Special and 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Sport Coupes had a shorter cabin area and a longer trunk.

For 1951, Chevy revised the grille design and chrome rear gravel shields and painted fender skirts became standard equipment. Stainless steel moldings outlined the windshield and rear window glass to cover up the rubber seals. Optional was the 235.5 cubic inch 92hp six cylinder and Powerglide transmission.

1951 Chevrolet Coupe model numbers were 1524 for the Styleline Special and 2124 for the Styleline Deluxe. At only $1,647, the Deluxe Sport Coupe model was only $100 more and was a far more refined car with additional trim, including chrome accents on the front fenders.

The Styleline Deluxe Coupe offered here has been restored in wonderful bright red paint, which shows well with the ample chrome trim and whitewall tires, and with sympathetic customization, offers a great opportunity to own a very driveable, superbly designed mid-Century coupe.
