Album containing letters and cables sent to Sir Edward Beatty, President of the Canadian Pacific Railway, concerning the loss of the Empress of Britain off County Donegal, Ireland, torpedoed and sunk by U-Boat 32 on 28th.October 1940. Letters from the Duke of Windsor, the Earl of Athlone, Governor General of Canada, William Lyon Mackenzie King and many others, including one from Kenneth Collins from the New York Times relating an amusing incident concerning a young man who worked in the laundry on the Empress, but who changed into evening clothes in order to go dancing with the guests., 4to
