Footnotes

  • It is unusual to find a split second chronometer watch with power reserve, and also in its original box. The watch is recorded in the Kullberg ledgers held at the Guildhall Museum. Listed under No.9563 it states the watch was made for Major Rivers on August 14th 1923. The list breaks down the watch into its various parts, such as the dial supplied by Willis, on September 16th 1921, also its Kew Certificate on July 21st 1923.

We are very grateful to Sir George White of the Clockmaker's Company Library, Guildhall Museum for photographing the Victor Kullberg ledger page for this particular watch.
