With bright fullered blade double-edged at the spear point and etched along half its length on one side against a dull grey ground with foliage, a sporting trophy, hares and a huntsman sounding his horn in a landscape, and along the other with a differing sporting trophy, a stag and hind, and a sportsman in a landscape, brass-mounted hilt comprising downbent shell-guard cast and chased with a recumbant stag, recurved quillons each formed as a stag's hoof, fluted pommel-cap, and natural buckhorn grip set with three brass ovals on one side, in original black leather scabbard with linear engraved brass locket and chape, the former with side pocket for a by-knife and acorn-shaped frog-stud
