Rare and early Peddler doll's bazaar, circa 1830
The two carved wooden grodener Tal peddler dolls, with painted features, painted black hair with wisps and on peg jointed bodies with painted red slippers, wearing original country style dresses, cloaks and bonnets, one attached to original wooden stand, standing on cloth covered base behind the bazaar in the form of an oblong table, with green velvet cloth and with a variety of very fine wares including two miniature grodener Tal dolls, one in a crib, paper fans, books, letter holders, boxes, pin cushion, kid gloves, model cottage, lace and threads, purse, spectacles, handkerchief, fan, combs and much more, under a glass case, (one doll missing tuck comb), tallest doll 22cm (8 1/2in) tall, base 41cm (16in) long, 25cm (10in) deep.
