Persian and Arabic manuscript on paper, text written in 17 lines of nasta'liq script in black ink, with some words and phrases in red, three lines of prayers relating to marriage in Arabic in thuluth script at the head of the document, headpiece and right-hand border decorated in gold with arabesques and floral motifs, margin rules in colours and gold, seal impressions and signatures of witnesses, creased, some tears, framed
660 x 395 mm.

  • The certificate relates to the marriage of Husain 'Ali Khan, son of Muhammad Khan Zanburakchi-bashi (officer in charge of small hand-cannons) to Zainab (or Zinat) Khanum, known as Sanam Khanum, daughter of Ustad [master] Aqa Baba, an architect from Isfahan.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
