A rare pair of Derby models of leopards
Circa 1765.
Modelled before bocage, their tails curled over their backs, their heads turned towards their hind quarters, one seated and one standing and both with one paw raised, their salmon pink coats with black spotted markings, the plain mound bases applied with flowers, 11.3 and 12cm high, patch marks (one with section of tail and one leg broken and restuck, otherwise minor chips and losses to bocage) (2)
