A George II silver coffee pot,
by Thomas Whipham & William Williams I, London 1742,
the pear shaped body chased with rococo decoration, with grotesque mask fountain spouts, among 'C' scrolls around two cartouches, one with an engraved armorial, the opposite cartouche crested, the spout embellished with leaf scrolls and a small vacant cartouche, terminating in a stylised birds head, the cast bun cover with a serpent finial on scallop ground, the back of the thumb piece with a mask, on a shaped circular foot with foliate scroll band with shells and masks, height 23cm, weight total 32oz.
