A Victorian Egyptian Revival silver épergne,
by Frederick Elkington, probably from a design by Auguste-Adolphe Willms, Birmingham 1874, base with incuse ELKINGTON & Co and pattern number 10396,
the open-work anthemion canopy/bowl support with three outswept scroll arms with dependant ball and chains, the vase shape column decorated with anthemions and leaf scrolls below guilloche and fluted bands, the column surrounded by three seated and winged sphinxes, on a shaped tripartite base decorated with a curtain of leaf scrolls and anthemions on three leg and claw supports, all on a shaped base, with a later replaced glass bowl, height of 39.6cm, weight 73oz.
