London 1974,
the upper and lower tiers formed by curved silver-gilt filigree spandrels with polished silver ribs, each arm terminating with a polished silver nozzle, all on a tapering stem and circular base with textured surface, height 42.5cm, weight 76.5oz.

    Stuart Devlin AO CMG
    Stuart Devlin, was born in Geelong, Australia in 1931. Trained at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. In 1958 he won a number of scholarships including a scholarship to study silversmithing under Professor Robert Goodden at the Royal College of Art, London. Spending two years in America he then returned to Australia. On his return to London Devlin set up a workshop in Clerkenwell in 1965. The following year he employed his first craftsman. Stuart Devlin created new techniques and produced a wide variety of textures and filigree forms. Between 1975 and 1985 he had a prestigious showroom in Conduit Street London. He was Prime Warden of the Goldsmiths Company 1996 – 97.

27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
