A late 19th century French gilt bronze five branch wall light
with elaborate backplate cast with a shield decorated with laurel leaves and ribbons, a quiver of arrows on the left side and an eagle head on the right below a plumed helmet and a ribbon tied crest, the shield centred by the mask of Medusa, with a pair of acanthus cast arms issuing from her open mouth and a further branch below issuing three further arms, the arms terminating in conforming drip pans and stiff leaf cast nozzles, later drilled for electricity, 106cm high
