A Roman marble sarcophagus panel
Late 2nd Century A.D.
Carved in high relief with two flying erotes either side of an Egyptian papyrus umbel, their upper legs raised, their wings arched out behind, one holding a cornucopia or torch, now missing, a comic mask at one corner, 34in (86.3cm) long, repaired and damaged, mounted

27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
