circular form with textured rayed shaped silver-gilt border, spot hammered silver centre, underside with impressed falcon mark and numbered 21, in a presentation case, gilt stamped to interior cover "President Falcon Award 1978", diameter 35.5cm, weight 44oz.

    Stuart Devlin AO CMG, was born in Geelong, Australia in 1931. Trained at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. In 1958 he won a number of scholarships including a scholarship to study silversmithing under Professor Robert Goodden at the Royal College of Art, London.
    In 1963 Devlin designed the new Australian decimal coinage
    Spending two years in America he then returned to Australia. On his return to London Devlin set up a workshop in Clerkenwell in 1965. The following year he employed his first craftsman.
    Stuart Devlin created new techniques and produced a wide variety of textures and filigree forms.
    Between 1975 and 1985 he had a prestigious showroom in Conduit Street London.
    He was Prime Warden of the Goldsmiths Company 1996 – 97.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
27.5% on the first £10,000 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £10,000 up to and including £450,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £450,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
