Footnotes

  • This particular watch was purchased new in Singapore in 1956, before spending the majority of its life on a coffee plantation in Papua New Guinea. Importantly it still retains its correct original dial which has aged to a rich chocolate colour, a characteristic desired by collectors. The dial also has the collectable depth rating in both guilt and silvered writing and the correct “SWISS” printed at the bottom of the dial. Also rare on this example is the early case signed between the lugs “B R E V E T” and the corresponding Brevet cross mark.

The watch has been fully serviced by one of Rolex Australia’s factory trained specialists, Mr Ross Beer, and has never been offered at auction before.
