Harrison, as Congressman representing Ohio, writes this letter to a fellow state politician, Jacob Burnet, regarding pending legislation in Washington. In part: Your letter upon the subject of changing the law in relations to the sales of personal property under Execution was received some days since. I received also a few days ago a letter from Mr. Brown on the same subject. I agree with you both on the propriety of extending the protection of the laws to that species of property. The subject had been previously brought before the Senate & a bill has been reported. It is said however to be extremely defective in the detail by those who understand the subject better than I do for the purpose of answering, it has been recommitted. I should have been very glad to have received from you the Draft of a billand it will not be too late now if you forwarded one immediately. It will no doubt arrive before the subject is finally disposed of so that it may be used in one way or another in the Houses.
