A good Regency four pedestal Dining Table
with three additional leaves, the reeded edge top with D-shaped end sections, the ring turned tapered columns on tripod bases with reeded downswept legs, brass cappings and castors, each pedestal stamped WILKINSON & SONS, 14 LUDGATE HILL, stamped with the numbers 5253,569cm wide extended, 145cm deep, 74cm high (224" wide, 145" deep, 29" high).

    William and Thomas Wilkinson operated a cabinet-making and real estate business at 9 & 10 Broker's Row, Moorfields between 1790-1807, after which William left to take over the established business of Quentin Kaye at 14 Ludgate Hill. He produced much fashionable Regency furniture as well as some patented items including extending dining tables. After William's death in 1833 the firm was continued by his sons William Ayscough and Charles and continued to operate into the 20th century eventually trading as Hindley and Wilkinson.

    The stamp Wilkinson & Sons was used from about 1825 until William's death in 1833 when the stamp was changed to W &C Wilkinson and Son.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

27.5% on the first £2,500 of the hammer price;
25% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £2,500 up to and including £300,000;
20% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £300,000 up to and including £3,000,000;
and 13.9% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £3,000,000.

VAT at the current rate of 20% will be added to the Buyer's Premium and charges excluding Artists Resale Right.
