A late George III oak-cased painted dial eight day longcase clock, circa 1800

The square painted dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and subisidiary date aperture, printed to the spandrels with pink summer blooms and decorated with later découpage animals to the centre, the movement with anonymous false plate rack striking on a bell, the hood with swan-neck pediment, the case with double-arched long door between fluted front corner quarter pilasters, raised on a plain base with skirting plinth.
