Footnotes

  • George Adams Junior had a workshop at Tycho Brahe's Head, 60 Fleet Street, London, from 1772 until his death in 1795. The globe was retailed by William & Samuel Jones from their shop which opened in 1792 at 135 Holborn, next to Furnival's Inn. The date of this globe can therefore be assumed to be from about 1792 until 1796 as the George Adams name continued to be used for a further year after his death.
